Frozen // Catching Fire (Pt 1)

Hey guys! Im back blogging again. This holiday i might just blog more because... IM GONNA HAVE A HELL OF FUN I SWEAR. i mean, its my last holiday... ahaha. and i have many events prepared. whoop whoop! of course, i gotta get my projects done too but i have 3 weeks. I CAN DO THIS!

Well anyway, today marks the first (and definitely NOT the last) time that im went out alone to the movies. Well, i have to say that i was never a movie person. Not until today. I mean, i always felt that it was a waste of money to go to the movies and watch when i can actually download it. And when you go with your friends, somehow i get distracted more. And on a personal note, there was just something that deterred me from the movies. But since i really wanted to watch Frozen and Hunger Games, and i didn't feel like staying home (this is really rare), i decided to catch them in the movies. It just feels so great like watching it alone. Come on now, dont judge me on this. Trust me, it really makes a movie a whole lot nicer watching it not distracted. And i enjoy it so much, i think i will just go ahead and do it more often from now on. YOU CAN JUDGE ME FOR BEING FOREVERALONE BUT NEVER AM I GONNA MISS ANOTHER MOVIE AND GET LAUGHED AT FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE. period. hahahaha.

Woke up in the morning at around... okay who cares what time i wake up. (apparently this is just an excuse because i dont know. hahaha) so i had my breakfast, a peanut butter subway cookie from ytd, and a cup of green tea. (or rather 3. I kept refilling it. Green tea is like my new fav. AND BESIDES IT HAS ZERO CALORIES. YAY!) Started to watch "The Heir" and i find it alittle funny and just another typical korean drama where the rich guy falls in love with the poor girl. But then again, its these shows that gives us girls hope that one day a rich guy will fall in love with us. (hah. fat hope unless you are pretty, smart, have a heart of gold and prolly done 10000000000000000 good deeds in your past lives) but oh well, in a world like today, we can do with some hope and dreams, dont we. Also, LeeMinHo is just so cute in the show and ParkShinHye is like so damn pretty. AND THERE IS MINHYUK~~~~ LE FAV DRUMMER FROM LE FAV BOY BAND CNBLUE~~~ okay anyway, so after 2 episodes, i decided to move my lazy ass and prep for going out. Had a cereal bar, grabbed an m&m mini bottle and off i go~~~

Took an ootd just outside of my house and boy you people are gonna get so accustomed to the walls around my house (quoted from Catherine) because that place is such a good place for OOTD! hohoho. okay minus the fact that i was literally trying to take a good shot and leave because i was so afraid someone will come. ahahahaha. but it was fun overall ^^

took a train to suntec in hope of catching minions but noooooooooooo i was late. Oh well. I see so many kids and parents i also paiseh to go and see minions. hahaha. so i went to marina square and got my tix for Frozen! was contemplating between Frozen or Hunger Games but my mouth just said Frozen before i can stop it. hahahaha. guy at the counter was kinda rude. Geez. but that didnt dampen my spirits! got my subway cookie (yes again. but with a different flavour--Raspberry Cheesecake) and off to the movies~

It was kinda weird going to the movies alone. Not that im alone, but im actually going to the movies. The last time i went was... Despicable Me 2. and that was quite some time back already. So i was in there and because i was alone, I WANTED TO SLEEP. damn, cinema is so cosy. and i had the seat near the wall. But then i couldnt sleep because a mom and 2 kid came and occupy the seat next to me. the little girl next to me is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo noisy. and keeps screaming spoilers. (cons of being alone for movies. you dont have a friends to block out the spoilers for you because you sit with strangers) but then again, she is a kid. Im sure she is damn excited to watch the movie. But oh well, in the end she quieten down and i enjoyed my movie nevertheless. okay im really gonna talk about the movie. So if you are going to watch, DONT READ KAY. i mean how are you gonna expect me to write without spoilers righttttttttt~~~~ okay dont hate me. hahaha.

FROZEN

Yknow how cartoons and disney movies are always so predictable? Like oh yea the moment the show starts you already know whos the good guy and bad guy. Its so right smack in your face. But people still watch them. Why? Well, i cant be sure for all of you, but for me, it is because they always weave meanings into their movies in the simplest and direct way that it seeps right through into your (okay fine. my) heart. come on, who agrees with me kee chiu! *input girl raising hand emoji*  Before this movie, my favourite cartoon movies were Rapunzel and Shrek. Now its one more on the list. The thing about this movie that i liked the most, was that it didn't emphasise on the usual "boy saves girl and they live happily ever after. But it actually depicts the love for a sister, for a family. and thats extremely touching. Of course, they infused the element of love. But then, this time there was family as well. We have all seen the other cartoon movies that emphasised on love and friendship. But this was on family. and i really like it alot because of this.

Halfway through the movie, i was like "ermagerd. i dont even look half as pretty as a cartoon character" but that was besides the point. hahaha. This movie even have songs and all incorporated. and i always loved these movies with songs (other than action and marvel movies)!!! HSM was like my number 1 fav last time, and glee is like the no. 1 fav for tv. common point? they all have songs! i mean like some people hate it when a show just breaks into a song for the weirdest reason but come on, they make the normal dialogues so much more interesting dont you think so!!!!

Well anyway, i talked about it being on the theme of family. Well, it was kinda obvious that Kristoff was gonna be with Anna in the first place and Prince Hans was apparently the bad guy. So i was like "yea yea. go on" then in the end, when Anna's heart got frozen, and Kristoff rushed back to save her and i was like "yea. guy kisses girl. happily ever after. damn the sister is gonna die. YOOHOO SOMEBODAYYYYY" AND THEN PLOT TWIST. ANNA RUNS TOWARDS THE SISTER. In the most crucial moment, she risked her life, of being completely ice solid for the rest of her life (well then she wont have known that her sister or anyone could save her but she tried saving her sister anyway) and as she turned into ice, she successfully protected her sister. Of course, they say that the way to melt a frozen heart is the act of true love, so i thought okay so now Kristoff can kiss a block of ice and save the day (how romantic) but no. Elsa melted the ice. Because of true love. A love for a sister, for a family. And finally, Elsa realised the meaning of true love melting ice and she finally learnt how to control her gift/curse and everything was back to normal (:

okay so what i actually see from the movie was that the stereotyping on the idea of "true love" In the movie, the moment the grandpa stone (im so sorry i didnt catch your name) said "Only the act of true love will melt a frozen heart" and everyone just linked it to a romantic kiss. Like everyone just connected "Love" to "Romance". But it teaches us in the movie that no, love isnt only about romance, it is family as well. I dont know if the "Act of True Love" was Elsa crying for Anna because she loved her or Anna sacrificing herself her Elsa (They both signify true love to me) but still, it was a twist that it was a family that saves the day (In a much less brutal way than "Taken", this message was carried forward. hahaha thank you Disney). After the movie, i walked around alone and had some time to reflect on the movie and this was what i concluded. The movie has shown me what is wrong with people. Okay im not sure if that was what was intended to be the morale of the story, but this is just how i saw it. People these days too link Love to Romance. And there comes all the "Forever Alone" "Together Alone" titles. But no, Love isn't all about Romance. It is about Family. Who is the one who accompanies you through thick and thin, SINCE THE DAY YOU WERE BORN? Family. We always say that we search for that one "true love". And then true love refers to your boyf or your girlf. But what we have been searching for, that so called "true love" has all along been with us. It is family. It was a gift. Your boyf or your girlf is your other half. And you know why they always say that they want to be with their true love for the rest of your life and be happily married? (okay this dont apply to those who dont believe in marriage kay.)

Because you want your true love to become your family. Because true love is where genuine care and true sincerity lies.

Also, it showed me that within a family, there always lies trust. Because despite Anna being shut off away by her sister for so many years, she never once doubt her sister's intentions. She trust that her sister will never hurt her and sincerely love her. Even though she questioned the reason behind Elsa's weird act since they were really close. She couldnt remember why because they removed her memory of Elsa having the power to create snow and ice to protect her. And Elsa kept herself away from Anna to protect her (True Love kay. True Love). But through the years, Anna believed that her sister would come out one day, and open up those closed doors (literally doors and metaphorically the doors of Elsa's heart). Finally one day, Elsa have to come out to be the queen but Anna agitated her too much that Elsa couldn't control her powers and froze up the entire kingdom. After Elsa left the kingdom and left the place frozen, Anna went into the woods to look for Elsa. And when told that what lies ahead  (Elsa) was gonna be scary, she insisted that her sister is not scary and will never hurt her. She told people that Elsa is not a monster. Well but she could have. I mean, so many years of avoidance? Boy you sure do trust her to still treat her as a family. Even to the minute that she saw Elsa, and Elsa unintentionally froze her heart, she never stopped trusting Elsa. She never stopped trusting her sister. Because even when her sister froze her heart, she knew and believed that it was unintentional and she risked everything to protect her sister. Because of trust, Because of love.

And that is called family. Because you dont doubt each other. And you stand alongside each other until the very last minute.

Okay, i really had alot to write about this movie. But im so tired that my thoughts are all jumbled up. I promise that the Pt 2 post on Catching Fire will be better kay.
And that is what i've learnt from the movie Frozen. Im really so tired nowwwwwwwwwww. byebye~
