Marry Him If You Dare

Im not sure if anyone of you guys have watched this show already. so like what i always say, if you guys haven't and you hate spoilers then dont read this okay.

This one is the show! it is actually called "Mirae's Choice", whereby Mirae is the name of the YoonEunHye character in the show. It is also known as "Future's Choice" because Mirae also means Future in Korean. So for people who are searching for this show in search engines, you may want to type "Marry Him If You Dare" or "Mirae's Choice" or "Future's Choice" to search for it in case different servers uses different names.

Well, another reason why i started watching this show was actually because of....

JUNGYONGHWA~~~
Just in case you all didn't already know, im a huge fan of CN Blue. Okay not that HUGE la. like im not involved in fandom or whatsoever. and ever since i switched over and stopped listening to Kpop but more of Epop, i can't really consider myself as a fangirl anymore. Not that i was one to start with anyway. But nevertheless, CN Blue remains as my favourite! They are the only band where i cannot simply point out who i like more, like one moment i like JungShin more, then the next moment YongHwa appears so handsomely next to him. Then next moment Minhyuk appear so cutely beside both of them, then JongHyun voice is like so awesome and he captures all the limelight. kyaaaa~ hahahah. Well anyway, JungYongHwa is one of the main lead in the show and he plays Park Se Joo. At first i liked his character alot, then it became that he was a little evil.... not sure if that was intended to be that way. then after that he became all nice and all! He's just so cute and his acting skills is not bad too. hehehe.

And does anyone realise that LeeDongGun looks like JungYongHwa's older version? For the trailer that i watched, i can't differentiate the both of them seriously!!! they look so alike! they can be brothers or father/son alrdy lo! hehehe. Well anyway, LeeDongGun acts as Kim Shin, a famous new anchor in the show who is extremely arrogant but has a heart filled with justice. The other lady in the show i cant remember her name. Like seriously. hahaha. the entire show i can only remember her being really pretty and like so poor thing, she have to smile smile smile in front of all the directors to get a job. but i can't remember her name. OTL.

well anyway, so the entire show was a little bit boring halfway through. But basically its plot was kinda interesting, though it didn't quite add up at the end. But oh well, if you actually justify it your way then just let it be. Because the ending is so mind boggling. OTL.

So the other day i was like talking to Jolene about this show, and i accidentally blurted out some really deep meaning of the show. So i thought i would share it here with you guys! okay at first i was gonna only say one point, but i suddenly remembered another. Like it suddenly struck me. So why not i do two points eh? and omg this post is gonna be so lengthy. im so sorry guys. hehehe.

So the first thing involves the lady who i do not know her name. okay lemme google her name right now. cos it doesn't seem right that i am talking about her but calling her "the lady". (actually it doesn't sound bad but im so lazy to type two words all the time) ohkay! shes called Seo Yoo-kyung in the show (OTL this name is even longer than "the lady") and she is called Han Chae Ah in real life.

She's so pretty. OTL. can i be half as pretty as you PLEASE~~~ okay one quarter also can la. one eighth also can la! (okay stop your wishful thinking chewlin)

well anyway, in the show, she is this outgoing and super cute news reporter. She would always make use of her asset (which is her beauty) to help her get into the good books of directors and producers so that she can get news jobs. She would always help them to lay the fork and spoon and tissue when she is having meals with them and all. And then one day, ParkSeJoo tells her to stop doing so. He tells her that she shouldn't be doing so because it isn't her job. and she started crying. Because it isn't her wish to do so either. It is just an act to help her advance in her job and she is also tired of doing so. Come to think of it, it is how the society works right now isn't it? trying to get into the good books of people who are in power, in authority. People who have the capability but are not willing to lower their status and bow down to serve the people higher in position normally gets bad reputations and meets with more obstacles than ever.

Compare YooKyung and  Kim Shin, while YooKyung tries all she can to get into good books of others, Kim Shin stands true to his ground. And who suffers the most from everything? Kim Shin. Because he is freaking stubborn. and this is society. Society is filled with bootlickers, who are very much often power hungry and they do all that they can to try to get the trust of people of higher authority to get power. But this is who we perceive these bootlickers to be. But if we look at them from a different perspective, they are just humans. Humans who are trying to make their lives easier, who are trying to keep their job, or even get a promotion so that they can support their family, support themselves, or for once show the world that "Yes i can do it". We are all like this isn't it. We all try our best to get into the good books of others because we know that getting into the good books of others can save us from a ton of troubles. We all know that getting into another's good book can really help us alot, like getting into teacher's good book, getting into supervisor's good book, getting into your parent's good book etc etc.

For the entire journey of your life so far, have you ever reflected on yourself and saw how many times did you try to please one person to get what you want? it can be as small as, "okay i should buy this for my mom, so that she will let me buy the other 2 things that i want" That's pleasing others to get your aim isn't it? Or "okay i should score all As for my form teacher's subjects so that she would nominate me as Chairperson next year" or "okay i need to provide a good conduct so that i get a good testimony". We are often just humans, we aren't saints, we aren't angels. We all have bad sides of ourselves. But we never let it show. Not to people who we know that would help us achieve what we want especially. Like you would never want to swear in front of your parents. Getting into one person's good books, i wouldn't say that it is called bootlicking anymore. I would say that in this society, it is called survival. It is a form of survival instinct that would help you to survive in this competitive world by allowing you have an advantage of making people around you more willing to help you.

Of course, note that i say advantage. Because if you are just nothing but an airhead or a half can filled with empty knowledge, then nothing can bring you far enough to attain success. Hypocritical as pleasing someone else may seem, or maybe you can say that some people are just that nice, it all lies with different people's perspective. Im not ruling out the possibility of people who are just genuinely nice. But then sometimes, you see dramas like why are people so tired from work and all. Because they are trying to do well, they are trying to perform well. For who? For their bosses. For what? For a promotion. They can just do the bare minimum. but to go higher, it is always the good books that matters. in real life also like tt what. you do find yourself in situations where you have to force a smile even though you are boiling deep down isnt it? no?

Okay so for those who have watched you would have already known the plot right. Well, for the sake of spoiling the show for those who insist on reading my blog post even without watch the show, well the show is basically a older Mirae (from 2043) who is traveling to the past to find the younger her(in 2013) so as to change her life because she is living in agony in 2043, where both her son and husband (she thought he died, but he didn't actually) died. and the thing she was trying to change was to stop Mirae from marrying Kim Shin so that she can prevent the loss of the son. Like change the future la. But then, it turns out that nothing she do will ever change it. Because the moment she changed how the present Mirae acted, and how Sejoo and KimShin acted, she created a second future that have nothing to do with her entirely. So that means that while the old Mirae from 2043 was changing the life of Mirae in 2013, another Mirae from another future of 2043 was living her life based on the changed fate! and it is even possible that there is more than 3 Mirae that was living. So the show was actually based on parallel universe.

And then, like when i was talking to Jolene, the show creep-ed me out when the parallel universe theory came out. Because its like... what if this theory is true in this universe too? What if there is a ton of future me that is living in say year 2043, but they are all non-related to each other. and its like a path. for every single decision that i encountered in my life, for every one of them i make, i choose i different path that leads me to a different fate. Maybe at first i only have one fate, but maybe during that lunch in primary school, i decided to eat that Meesoto that made me vomit like mad and never dared to eat it ever again, instead of the egg-bread that i loved, i created a second future. and then when i decided to go to Deyi instead of another school, i created a third future. Maybe this you can say im retarded. like i always believe that everything that happen in life is for a reason. So what about think that there is a ton of you RIGHT NOW. LIKE EIGHTEEN EIGTHEEN-YEAR-OLD CHEWLIN?!?! like maybe in another universe, because i chose another option, i am not in Ngee Ann but in Singapore Poly? Maybe in another universe I never knew the Awesome 4, maybe i never knew Jolene. Maybe there is just so many people that i know right now, maybe there is so much happiness that i felt right now, another me in another universe may have a totally different experience. But then if that's the case im kinda glad that im not in that universe tho...

But then i thought, what if in another universe, i do not feel the agony that i feel right now because i made a different choice back then? maybe i have acted differently, maybe i avoided that agony. wouldn't that be great? free from the agony. damnn..

Many of us always ask: "if only i can turn back time, i would not have done this this this that that that" but then, if Mirae's Choice theory is true, then it won't make a difference even we can turn back time. Because all we will be doing is creating another future. The future of the "present" self we went back to find. So like what Mirae says in the show, this just teaches us that we should not be making decisions based on our future. I know that people always say that we need to think of the consequences of our actions and make decisions in life. But then again, how will things turn out? and will things always turn out the way we think it will be? We don't have a future self to tell us what will and what not. But we must always remember that a decision made, should be a decision that you, at the present, thinks that it is the best. Even if it results in a really bad consequence, then its only up to you to make a change and make the whole situation better!! that was what the future Mirae couldn't get over. While she lost her son, she thought she lost everything. She thought she lost everything. But then when she realised that her husband wasn't dead, and she went back, everything was fine again. So this means that all the trouble she been through was for nothing. All she had to do was to make her present better and not going back to the past and making changes!

and that is whyyyyy. we say "dont dwell on the past, it isn't going to change" well, yea, it will change, perhaps a different future you. But it doesn't change you because nothing will ever affect or change.

Hence, the take home message is that

Don't think so much about what will come in the future. Be it good or bad, it will come as it may. What is more important is that you stop dwelling on the past, and make the best out of the present and anticipate the future.

Alright! im done blabbering. gotta go finish up my work. bye!!! oh and Happy New Year fellow Homo sapiens (:
