NATAS (1)

been working at NATAS for the past two days. all I can say is that it is damn tiring. but it was quite fun too. nice people, nice food and nice pay. hahaha. and I realize that tiang is actually a HUGGER. she actually hugged me when she saw me at work. HAHAH. shocked. and I hugged her back, along with my huge stack of bags, and aunties throwing death stares because i wasnt distributing the bags for a while.HAHA.

but working through these two days, made me wonder what has Singaporeans become. I mean, we all know that aunties and sometimes, uncles, they snatch these freebies like it's gold bar. but what I'm more shocked of, are that children are doing the same. among so many children that came to me for a bag, only two to three said THANKYOU. and they are just 3-4 years old, and said so because their parents told them to. most just took, no SNATCHED, the bag away from my hands. I was extremely taken aback when one of the child said to her sister,' just go take. ' and she came back, took a bag, and DIDN'T say thankyou.

of course, not surprised. how many of us really says THANKYOU to people who help us, especially strangers? be it the one giving flyers, the one giving out freebies, or just the one who made way for you in a crowded mrt? rarely, we take them all for granted. like me being the one giving freebies, how many said THANKYOU? okay I'm sure many had the intention, but merely mouthed thankyou. and there were more who just gave me a black face, snatched it away, complained that the color is not nice, complained that it's spoilt, complain this and that. Some just come to me, and stick their hands out, demanding one. but it's a freebie. it's not part of the 4 dollar entry fee you paid. some other countries don't even have clothes to wear. and yet we are getting free bags, that people just treat it as nothing. how ungrateful are we? towards the things we have, and the people who tries to be nice to us?

of course. these are the minorities. but the fact that the children ate starting to mimic the wrong acts worries me. and it actually served as a wake up call for me, to stop being an ugly Singaporean and learn to be a polite and helpful Singaporean.

there were still alot of people who actually said THANKYOU, and smiled. they would make up like 3/4 of the people. I'm really happy to pass them the bag and said 'you are welcome.' or forced a smile because I was really tired. I really hope I'm wrong. I still have faith in Singaporeans because I've witness alot of good things Singaporeans do. (: I just hope that people stop being so... arrogant and take things for granted. just because it's free you take, it's not about it being useful or not.

still have a day of work tmr! shall post more of the fun of it tmr (: Ta-ta~
